The Coupar Grange beat has in the past been
overlooked by certain fishermen looking for classic
fly fishing but with a bit of water on the river
the fishing is second to none. With sixteen named
pools and runs, the three year average for
springers is over 160 fish and the summer salmon
and grilse take the yearly average to over 400
fish. Fly fishing accounts for 80% of the fish but
spinning also does well. Certain areas are reserved
for fly only fishing. A ghillie can be arranged for
fishers unfamiliar with the water.
The fishing comprise 2 miles of double bank with
easy access to the river and adequate parking.
Tickets are available Monday through Saturday.
For wildlife enthusiasts Coupar Grange boasts a
great variety of birds and mammals with osprey,
peregrine, kingfishers, buzzard, roe deer, otter,
hares and water vole seen regularly so bring your
camera.
We would like to remind all anglers that Coupar
Grange has banned the use of worms until 1st June,
in conjunction with the Tay District Salmon
Fisheries Board recommendations.
